An anti-reflection (AR) coating is a type of optical coating that is applied to the surface of an optical element to reduce the amount of reflection and increase the amount of transmitted light. A single-wavelength AR coating, as the name suggests, is designed to reduce the amount of reflection at a specific wavelength.
In the case of an 808nm wavelength, which is commonly used in laser applications, a single-wavelength AR coating would be designed to reduce the amount of reflection at that specific wavelength. This can be achieved by depositing a thin film of a material with a refractive index that is lower than the refractive index of the substrate onto the surface of the substrate.
