Sapphire tubes and rods are tubular or rod-shaped optical components made of sapphire. Sapphire tubes have a hollow cylindrical structure, while sapphire rods are solid cylinders. The Charateristic Of Sapphire Tube and Rod

• Sapphire tubes and rods have the following characteristics:
• They offer excellent spectral transmittance in the 200nm-5μm range from the ultraviolet to the infrared, making them suitable for use as light-transmitting or protective windows in UV, visible, and IR optical systems.
• Their Mohs hardness, measuring 9, is second only to diamond, making them suitable for use as windows in harsh environments. They are scratch-resistant, abrasion-resistant, sand-resistant, and corrosion-resistant.
• Sapphire tubes and rods have excellent thermal properties, with a melting point of approximately 2050°C. Their high thermal conductivity and low coefficient of thermal expansion facilitate heat dissipation, and they offer excellent thermal stability and are resistant to cracking.
• Sapphire is resistant to strong acids, alkalis, and chemical corrosion, making it suitable for use as reaction observation windows or in equipment used in plasma environments.

• Laser Crystal Transmission
  The laser substrate or transmission material requires extremely high light transmittance and low absorption loss, and must also withstand high-power laser irradiation. Sapphire rods, through cold processing and precision polishing, can serve as laser crystal substrates or light guide rods. Combined with other optical components such as lenses and reflectors, this ensures stable laser output without damaging the optical components.
• Liquid Protection Sleeves
  Sapphire acts as a protective sleeve for high-pressure gases or liquids. Installed on the outer layer of a sensor or optical fiber, it protects the sensor or fiber within and extends its lifespan.
• Medical Endoscope Systems
  In medical endoscope systems, all materials must be non-toxic and contaminant-free. Microtubing and rods must also be transparent, wear-resistant, and corrosion-resistant. Sapphire tubes, acting as light guides in endoscopes, provide a clear and durable optical path.
