1D Diffraction Beam Splitter Grating Description

A one-dimensional diffraction beamsplitter grating is an optical element that utilizes periodic microstructures to diffract incident light, splitting a single incoming beam into two or more discrete outgoing beams with specific angles and intensities. The principle is to distribute the energy of the incident light to a specified number of diffractive sub-beams by precisely designing the grating’s period, groove shape and depth.

1D Diffraction Beam Splitter Grating Key Features

  • Diffraction efficiency is very high, the general diffraction efficiency is more than 70%, can reach 80%-90
  • According to the wavelength and used in the choice of fused silica and silicon as a substrate, the current standard products use silicon as a substrate material, designed for different infrared bands, monocrystalline silicon as a substrate for the infrared, especially in the mid- and far-infrared transmittance is high, and can withstand higher thermal loads
  • The center wavelengths of 2μm and 4.1μm can be applied to different lasers, such as some fiber lasers, Tm lasers, and mid-infrared gas lasers.
  • Adopting the flashing grating design to concentrate the energy to realize 1*5 beam splitting.
  • The angle of each diffracted sub-beam relative to the optical axis (or to each other) is fixed at 3.0°, and the angle between each diffracted beam is the same, so that a high degree of stacking and uniformity can be maintained in the beam splitting.
