940nm VCSEL Lens Diffuser FOV 110°x45° for 3D Sensing 0.35mm Applications

Machine Vision: 3D Visual Inspection

In industrial machine vision, 3D inspection places high demands on the uniformity and stability of the light source; uneven illumination can lead to measurement errors and false readings. A 940nm VCSEL lens module can be integrated into the 3D camera’s light source unit to provide stable, uniform illumination. This enables the camera to capture data suitable for dimensional inspection, surface defect detection, and robotic guidance.

AR/VR Spatial Positioning

AR/VR headsets require lightweight components and sensors capable of tracking user hand movements and the surrounding environment. A 940nm VCSEL lens with a 110°×45° field of view can cover the primary interaction zone, facilitating spatial positioning or gesture tracking.

ToF (Time-of-Flight) Sensors

ToF sensors calculate distance by measuring the time of flight of light pulses, requiring a light source that generates a uniform, controllable light field over the target area. An uneven light field results in inconsistent ranging accuracy across different zones. This diffuser spreads the 940nm pulsed laser emitted by the VCSEL into a 110°×45° rectangular light field, uniformly illuminating the target scene; the ToF sensor then captures the reflected light and calculates the time of flight to generate a depth map or distance data.

Structured Light Cameras

In applications such as 3D scanning, facial recognition payments, and access control systems, structured light cameras require the conversion of a VCSEL point light source into a uniform area light source. Uneven illumination causes inconsistencies in the brightness of projected speckles or stripes, thereby compromising calculation accuracy. This diffuser uniformly spreads the 940nm laser across the entire target area, enabling the capture of patterns used to calculate depth information.
