1550nm Optical Narrow Band Filter FWHM 60nm For LiDAR and IR Thermometer
1550nm Optical Narrow Band Filter FWHM 60nm is an optical filter which transmit 1520-1580nm and block other environment light. Coligh customs and manufactures the near infrared narrow bandpass filter for LiDAR and Infrared temperature measurement Applications.
1550nm Optical Narrow Band Filter FWHM 60nm For LiDAR and IR Thermometer Overview
The 1550nm Optical Narrow Band Filter with a 60nm FWHM (Frequency-to-Handle) wavelength utilizes a hard dielectric coating design. With a center wavelength of 1550nm and a 60nm FWHM, it boasts near-100% peak transmittance and maintains an out-of-band cutoff depth (OD3) within the 700-1800nm passband range, effectively blocking interference from sunlight, ambient light, and other infrared stray light.
As an optical filter manufacturer, Coligh can customize membrane systems and cutoff ranges according to customer requirements. Substrates include optical glass, fused silica, and B270, and dimensions, thickness, and the presence or absence of mounting rings can all be customized. Furthermore, membrane system optimization can be tailored to the customer’s detector, laser power, incident angle, and environmental conditions.
It possesses the following core features:
- The 1550nm center wavelength and 60nm FWHM are ideal for LiDAR reception.
- Very high transmittance, close to 100%
- Outside cutoff depth OD3, higher cutoff depth versions are also available upon request.
- Dimensions can be customized to customer requirements, such as round, square, or other shapes.
- We currently have a large inventory of various bands and can also provide sampling, small-batch, and large-batch supply according to project requirements.

1550nm Laser LiDAR Filter FWHM 60nm Applications
1550nm LiDAR Receiver
In rainy, foggy, and strong sunlight environments, the 1550 nm LiDAR receiver receives a significant amount of ambient light. Narrowband filters allow only laser echoes near 1550 nm to pass through, suppressing visible light and out-of-band infrared radiation, thus improving the signal-to-noise ratio. FWHM 60 nm strikes a balance between transmittance and ambient light suppression and is more adaptable to temperature and angle changes. 1550/60nm LiDAR filters can improve LiDAR detection range, ranging accuracy, and resistance to sunlight interference.
Infrared Thermometer
Infrared thermometry or sensing systems using the 1550 nm band require isolation of the target wavelength and suppression of ambient light, thermal radiation, and stray light. A 1550/60nm infrared temperature measurement filter can be installed in front of an infrared sensor or detector to improve temperature measurement accuracy, repeatability, and anti-interference capability, while reducing the influence of ambient light.
Infrared Sensing and Spectral Analysis
Infrared sensing and spectral systems require narrowband light around 1550 nm while suppressing other wavelengths. A 1550/60nm near-infrared narrowband filter can improve signal purity and measurement repeatability, making it suitable for scientific research, industrial testing, and environmental monitoring.
