1450nm FWHM 25nm Narrowband Optical Filter for Laser & Sensing
1450nm FWHM 25nm Narrowband Optical Filter is bandpass filter that center wavelength 1450nm and FWHM 25nm. It transmit 1437.5–1462.5 nm wavelength range. Coligh manufactures and customs 1450nm optical filter for laser and sensing.
1450nm FWHM 25nm Narrowband Optical Filter for Laser & Sensing Overview
The 1450nm FWHM 25nm Narrowband Optical Filter features a center wavelength of 1450nm and a half-width of 25nm. It offers high transmittance in the 1437.5-1462.5nm range while suppressing visible light, near-infrared light, and other stray light from SWIR sources in the 200-3200nm range. It is primarily used in laser ranging, lidar, fiber optic gas and moisture sensing, and SWIR imaging systems.
Coligh Optics employs a hard dielectric multilayer film design. Starting with the film system design, they optimize the cutoff range, bandwidth, and substrate selection. Based on the customer’s laser wavelength, detector type, and incident angle, they optimize the center wavelength, FWHM, and cutoff depth to customize and produce SWIR filters with consistent batch production.

1450nm FWHM 25nm IR Narrowband Filter Applications
1450nm Laser Ranging and LiDAR
When operating outdoors, 1450nm laser ranging and lidar systems receive sunlight, ambient infrared light, and long-wave background radiation at the receiver. Narrowband filters allow only laser echoes near 1450nm to pass through, suppressing other wavelengths and improving the signal-to-noise ratio.
Eye-Safe Laser Systems
1450nm is commonly used in eye-safe laser systems, but the laser may contain ASE (associated wavelengths), harmonics, or stray light. Narrowband filters can be used for beam purification, reducing unwanted wavelengths entering subsequent optical paths. This improves beam purity and signal-to-noise ratio, reduces background light, and protects subsequent optical components and detectors.
Moisture, Humidity, and Gas Sensing
The area near 1450nm is associated with moisture absorption and some gas characteristics, making it suitable for moisture, humidity, or specific gas sensing. Narrowband filters isolate the target wavelength and suppress interference from other wavelengths.
SWIR Imaging
SWIR imaging can penetrate certain materials and identify moisture and internal structures, but ambient light and thermal radiation can reduce contrast. A 1450 nm narrowband filter isolates the target wavelength and suppresses out-of-band background. This improves image contrast and defect detection rate while reducing background noise.
